OCNWM - Retrofit Academy Gains New Accreditation

The Retrofit Academy has been recognised as an Approved Centre by the leading Awarding Body The Open College Network West Midlands (OCNWM).

The Award follows a close collaboration between the OCNWM and The Academy to create the OCNWM Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management. It means that The Academy has become the first training provider able to deliver the new course as a credit-bearing, regulated qualification.

The qualification has been made possible by support from CITB and our partners the Federation of Master Builders, Engie, Retrofit Works and the Insulated Cladding and Rendering Association (INCA).

The Academy’s Chief Executive David Pierpoint commented: “Transforming the Retrofit Coordinator course from high-quality CPD to a regulated-qualification has been a long but exciting journey, and we would like to thank all the project partners for their support.”

The Academy is currently piloting both taught-courses and eLearning versions of the qualification with sixty builders, installers and other building professionals. The Academy will then begin to work with training providers across the UK to support their tutors to deliver the course.
