FREE Event: Raising Retrofit Quality in South East England

Eco Connect South East take places at the King’s Centre in Oxford on Wednesday 22nd November 2017. The event is delivered by Osmosis in partnership with the OxFutures Project and the Association for Environment Conscious Building, and can contribute towards your Retrofit Academy CPD!

Registration for the event is FREE for anyone involved in the specification of building products and materials; and for construction clients. This includes architects, specifiers, consultants, engineers, design managers, developers, social landlords, self-builders etc.

Nineteen New Retrofit Coordinators

Our Retrofit Academy tutors have been kept busy over the summer delivering two full Diploma for both PDP Architects in London, and the Construction Wales Innovation Centre in Cardiff. Twenty-one individuals graduated altogether, bringing the total number of Retrofit Coordinators trained and qualified by The Retrofit Academy to seventy-two!

PDP Architects in London ran a course in-house for 9 members of staff at the practice, all of whom passed successfully! The Diploma was run over the course of 6 months at their offices, and they are now one of the first practices to have fully trained up their retrofit staff following the Each Home Counts Review. Read their ‘Reflections on the Bonfield Review’ article here.

Wales & West Housing Association
Funded by CWIC & UWTSD
The Construction Wales Innovation Centre is a unique all-Wales Hub & Spokes training facility funded by the CITB. The Retrofit Academy delivered the Retrofit Coordinator Diploma in partnership with the University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s (UWTSD) at Wales and West Housing Association’s Cardiff offices.

The summer course in Cardiff was made free to individuals working with the construction and supply network within Wales. Professionals from various companies attended and as a result, Wales now has an additional 10 qualified Retrofit Coordinators operating within its borders!

The next course is currently taking place at Wales and West Housing Association Offices in Ewloe, North Wales. Find out more
